1 Sermon
Vladimir was born August 2, 1958 in Albania. He went to heaven on May 24, 2010 after a two year battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife, Mimoza; his sons, Andi and Kevin; mother, Bukuroshe Dervishi; brother, Jimmy; sister, Deshira; and several nieces and nephews. Vladimir came to San Diego in 1992 to work on an Albanian dictionary with Professor Leonard Newmark of UCSD. Vladimir was a respected linguist who received his Ph.D in Albania. He then began his life’s work of translating the Word of God from the original Hebrew and Greek to the modern Albanian language, completing the entire New Testament in eight years and overseeing its distribution in his home country. He was working on the Old Testament and had completed up to the book of Job before his illness prevented him from finishing.
