- John T. Clark • 6/11/23To "Double Down" means to strengthen one's commitment to a particular strategy or course of action, typically one that is potentially risky. This morning, we are going to see Jesus doubling down! He is going to lean into WHO He is and WHY He has the right to heal a man on the Sabbath. What we have in the rest of this chapter is the most thoroughgoing statement of Jesus' unity with the Father, His divine commission and authority, and His proof of Messiahship in all of the Gospels. John chapter 5 is a treasure trove of truth about the person of Jesus Christ!
- This sermon explores Psalm 3 as a profound expression of faith in the midst of personal crisis, centered on David's flight from his rebellious son Absalom. It highlights the tension between David's dire predicament—marked by overwhelming enemies and despairing voices declaring his salvation impossible—and his unwavering peace rooted in God's sovereign protection and presence. The preacher emphasizes that true peace is not found in the absence of trouble but in trusting God's faithfulness, as seen in David's ability to sleep securely because Yahweh sustains him. The sermon affirms that prayer, even in anguish, draws believers closer to God, and that God's ultimate victory over evil is both spiritually and physically assured. Ultimately, the psalm declares that salvation belongs to Yahweh alone, and His blessing remains upon His people, offering enduring hope and assurance in every trial.
- Rocky Stevenson • 4/5/20Corona Chronicles Sermon 05. James 1v16-18
- John T. Clark • 6/4/23Last week, we looked at Jesus' healing of a crippled man at the Pool of Bethesda. This was John's THIRD hand-selected sign and because this sign was done on the Jewish Sabbath it created a very "sticky" situation for Jesus, which I think He created willingly AND intentionally. Jesus did so to confront false religious teaching and understanding, as it related to the Sabbath, and to also further clarify His identity and authority! This morning's passage further sets the stage for one of Jesus' premiere teaching sessions in John's gospel.
- Dr. Erwin Lutzer • 2/14/26The Munich Agreement illustrates appeasement's failure: Hitler exploited weakness, promises without character proved empty, and Churchill showed that truth often requires standing alone against the majority. Lessons in courage, integrity, vigilance.
- Justin Fulton • 3/1/26The dispersion of Israel, the ten northern tribes, by the Assyrians laid the foundation for the political, social, and religious condition of the land of Galilee which we see revealed in the gospels. This was the context of the majority of our Lord's earthly ministry. Understanding this will help to understand such incidents as the Syrophoenician woman, the Samaritan woman and the city of Sychar and our Lord's conversations with them.
- Ronnie Nichols • 3/3/26What is Sanctification? Sanctification is the work of God's free grace whereby we are renewed in the whole man after the image of God and are enabled more and more to die unto sin, and live unto righteousness. ~The Baptist Catechism Question 38
- Justin Fulton • 2/25/26Brotherly love is naturally in every true believer as part of the divine nature they have received by the work of the Holy Spirit through the new birth. That love is a sacrificial love and must increase.
- Justin Fulton • 2/22/26Declaring the truth of the Gospel is the Christian's responsibility. God is the only one who save a sinner.
- Justin Fulton • 2/22/26The Lord Jesus Christ did far more than provide for the salvation of his elect, he accomplished all the will of God for our redemption. There is nothing left to do. The testimony of a truly born again redeemed sinner is not what they did but what Jesus did for them.
- Robert (Bob) Gunn • 3/1/26" A Man's Chief End Is To Glorify God and enjoy Him forever." - The Fundamentals Of Prayer - John 14:13-15 God's words are always true. His inspired written word to mankind is true, and His word can be received with joy, or, depending on how we see ourselves, His word might offend. If God's word offends the hearer, it is not the nature and character of God that is at fault, but the hearer who is at fault. Scripture References John 14:13-15 Psalm 73:24-28 Exodus 20:3 Exodus 20:4-6 John 14:13-15 John 6:44 Matthew 7:21 Matthew 22:36-40 James 2:18 John 14:15 1 John 3:21-23 John 13:34 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Benediction - Pastor's May God our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ guide each of us through the love of the Holy Spirit. May our Lord and Savior, through whom all things come, provide all our needs, now and in the future, and may we bless Him and thank Him for all things. Amen!
- The sermon centers on the biblical concept of hope as a dynamic, Spirit-empowered reality rooted in God's character and promises, not in human circumstances. Drawing from Romans 15:13, it emphasizes that true hope produces enduring joy and peace, not mere emotional optimism, and overflows from believers into their families and the wider world. The source of this hope is identified as the God of hope, who fills believers to the brim through the power of the Holy Spirit—described as a dynamic, transformative force akin to a living fountain. The message calls listeners to personal faith, repentance, and reliance on God's promises, inviting them to experience a hope that is not self-generated but divinely imparted and visibly transformative. Ultimately, the sermon presents hope as both a divine gift and a mission, calling believers to live in such radiant confidence that others are drawn to the source of their joy and peace.
