Sleeping Saints

We have no capacity in and of ourselves to love God because it is a gift that He sheds abroad in our hearts. Just like the woman in Solomon's Song, so many times we allow our love to wax cold, we grow sleepy and unaware of our surroundings, and we become slothful in our relationship with the Lover of our soul.
