Midweek 08/27/25 Full Service
This time of worship is founded on the Truth of God's Sovereign Grace in Christ through the narrative of Genesis 38, highlighting how God works redemptively even amidst human sin and failure. It emphasizes that salvation is not earned through human goodness but is the Gift of God's Grace, illustrated by the unlikely lineage of Christ stemming from Tamar, a Canaanite woman. The preacher underscores that God's purpose is often fulfilled through unexpected vessels and that even in seemingly scandalous situations, God's hand is directing, ultimately demonstrating His power to bring glory from human weakness and establish His eternal purpose through the line of David and the Messiah.
In addition in Psalm 119:17-24 the preacher develops the meaning of the Hebrew letter Gimel which represents a camel bearing goods to the needy, or of a man on a mission to bring good tidings to the needy, all a type of the LORD Jesus in coming to this world as a man, and like a camel bearing necessary goods of salvation for God's elect for whom He came to pay their sin debt.
