Paul had no Sorrow / Romania

Much has changed in Romania since the overthrow of Communist leader Nicolae Ceausescu in 1989. The land of Transylvania and Dracula is now open to the gospel.

While most missionaries go to the western, more populated areas of Romania, the eastern areas remain largely in the dark.

On this Lord's Day we were blessed to have with us our missionaries to Romania, the Dernlans, and pastor Viorel Cruceru from Slatina, Romania.

Romania is strongly orthodox, but hates true believers. They're not called Christians in Romania, but rather 'repenters.' Perhaps adopting that name would help distinguish between true and false believers in our own country.

The first 18 minutes of this message is a presentation about Romania in general. The remainder is an exposition on 2 Timothy 4:6-8 on how the apostle Paul had no sorrow, no regret.

Pastor Cruceru can tell of many first hand accounts of corruption and murder when Romania was under communism. His father, also a Baptist pastor, was imprisoned and even had a firearm held to his temple.
