The Reign of Death and Life

Romans 5.12-21 punctuates how we have changed our position from being in Adam (the old nature or the flesh) to being in Christ (the new nature; new creation). We learn in the second half of Romans 5 that either death or life will reign in our lives. Death must reign for the unbeliever. But either death or life will reign for the believer. Therefore, Romans 5 serves as a connector between the justification we learned about in Romans 1-4 and sanctification we will learn about in Romans 6-8.
