Be at Peace with One Another
I. Jesus’ teaching on relational peace
• His coming would not always bring peace; sometimes it would bring division. (Matthew 10:34-36)
• His followers would show their distinct character by being at peace with one another. (Mark 9:50, Matt. 5:9)
II. The New Testament basis for peace between believers
• Jesus Himself, who broke down the dividing walls (Ephesians 2:11-18)
• The common truths which unite all true believers (Ephesians 4:3-6)
III. The things which make for peace (Luke 19:41-42)
• Make peace with other followers of Christ one of your highest priorities. (Matthew 5:21-23, Ephesians 4:3)
• Lay aside your offensive attitudes and focus on edifying others. (Romans 14:19)
• Do everything within your power to live in peace with everyone. (Romans 12:18, Matthew 7:4-5)
• Ask God to search your heart for ways of relating to others which are not pleasing to Him. (Psalm 139: 23-24, Proverbs 16:7)
