Life That Lasts

The battle that new converts to Christianity faced in the 1st century world was a battle against the powerful forces that would tempt them back toward the wicked practices out of which they had been saved. In various ways, the apostles of Christ sought to encourage the new believers to follow the way of Christ and to live in righteousness. This text contrasts the character and destiny of those who adhere to the world and the character and destiny of those who are redeemed. The world is passing away. Those who follow Christ, doing the will of God, will endure forever.
