General kindness, good manners, common courteousness, and gentlemanly ways are becoming a lost art. Too often people labor at being kind and courteous to those outside the home but they will carry a selfish or disrespectful attitude around their close associates at home. We need Christian men who will set the example and seek to teach godly kindness in their homes. The worldly man continually strives to advance himself at the expense of others. The Christian man is to stand unwaveringly on the principles of God's word but he must not do so with a spirit of meanness and bigotry. Christ confronted the self-righteous religious leaders in His day with their hypocrisy, but He did not with a mean, self-righteous, and harsh spirit.
