The Effects of True Conversion

The Lord makes it clear to us that we are prone to self-deception. He tells us to 'examine yourselves to see whether you be in the faith.' He warns us to 'be not deceived.' There are both 'wise' and 'foolish' virgins. There are 'goats' intermingled with the 'sheep,' and 'weeds' growing alongside the 'wheat.' Perhaps the most terrifying words ever spoken were those of Jesus: 'Not everyone who says to Me 'Lord, Lord' shall enter the kingdom of heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your name, cast out demons in your name, and done many wonders in your name?' And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you, depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.'' (Mt. 7:21-23). What are the marks of genuine Christianity? What are the effects of true conversion? What is the evidence I should expect to see in my life if I am truly a child of God.? This message gives 10 such evidences, as it attempts to strip away the veneer of self-confidence upon which many rely. This message seemed to have the Lord's blessing on it when it was preached.
