Would you carry the wood?
Abraham didn't arrive at this point in his life over night. It took him years to get here. A lifetime for him to get to this point where God could test him and he would come through. Had this arrived sooner he would have failed. For every believer a time is going to come when we will be asked of God to go and do something we don't want to do. The good news is that God won't ask until we are ready, the bad news is we are gonna feel sure that we aren't. And we are not, it is only by the strength God gives us that we can do anything, but that strength is there. For the most part Abraham didn't carry the physical wood himself, but he did carry it in his heart. Knowing that God had just told him to go and kill the son of promise Abraham carried the burden of his orders for this occasion in his heart. This ordeal weighed down on his shoulders as he actually was carrying the wood. This burden was his occupation at the moment and thought the outlook may not have looked too bright he knew he had to follow God and believe Him. Would you carry the wood?
