Live for a Purpose Not a Dream
The world encourages us to have a dream, and that sounds so inspiring. The world's wisdom insists that we order our life around goals and that makes sense. But there is better way, and that is to live for a purpose instead of chasing dreams and striving toward goals. Dreams are made of nothing, they have no substance. They are imagination and desire combined. Goals are usually based upon some kind of selfish desire or pride and serve more to distract us from the true purpose of life, which is to seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness. Jesus commands that we deny ourselves, forget our selfish dreams, abandon our self-centered goals, and simply be a vessel He can use for his glory, and all these other things will be added to us.
