Are You Ever Ashamed?

It is an important goal of the enemies of God to remove the shame for sin. It is the part of sin that hurts immediately, and therefore is a deterrent to sin. Those who have sinned, and those who desire to sin, want this hurtful, hindering element of the process to go away and not have to be considered. Shame destroys pride, so the two are set against one another – only one will prevail – they cannot co-exist in a person. That is why June is "Pride Month," instead of being ashamed of their sin, they are trying to convince everyone they are proud of it. It is normal and right and helpful to our soul to be ashamed when we have done wrong. Shame is the voice of reason and truth. God designed us so that we would feel shame when we have done wrong.
