The Gospel Guest List
The Gospel Guest List.3 John 1:5-8 (KJV) In this message titled "The Gospel Guest List," we are reminded that successful Christian living includes faithful service to others—especially those laboring for the Gospel.
Drawing from 3 John 1:5-8, the Apostle John commends Gaius for his generosity and hospitality toward both fellow believers and strangers who are serving Christ.
I. Recognizing the Laborers – (v.5)
We must open our eyes and hearts to those who are diligently working in the Lord's fields. Whether they are known to us or not, their faithful service is worthy of support.
II. Refreshing the Workers – (vv.6-7)
John encourages believers to support and send forth Gospel workers "after a godly sort." These missionaries did not rely on worldly means, but trusted God's people to sustain them in their calling. Refreshing them means strengthening and encouraging their journey in ministry.
III. Receiving and Partnering – (v.8)
We are called not just to be passive observers but "fellow-helpers to the truth." When we receive, support, and partner with Gospel messengers, we share in their kingdom fruit and become part of God's eternal work.
This sermon challenges us to consider: Who is on our Gospel guest list?
Are we welcoming, encouraging, and supporting those who carry the message of Christ?
As fellow-helpers to the truth, our service extends beyond the church walls into the global mission of the Gospel. Faithfulness, hospitality, and partnership are not optional—they are marks of a successful and surrendered Christian life.
