The Zeal of Zacchaeus

As He was passing through Jericho on His way toward His Triumphal Entry into the City of Jerusalem and His cruel crucifixion on Calvary's cross later in the week, Jesus sovereignly singled out a chief tax collector whose personal and passionate response unquestionably confirmed the reality of his salvation! Consequently, our Scripture lesson teaches us and challenges us in no uncertain terms that when according to the sovereign plan and purpose and providence of Almighty God Jesus comes so close that He calls us to Himself by name, as it were, we too must respond with The Zeal of Zacchaeus!
