Rebellion was the First Sin

Satans contact with man is to deceive. Satan speaks enough of the truth to get us to believe it. When we sin against God we take on the likeness of satan himself. No son is more like his father than a sinner is like the devil. Just because a liar tells the truth doesn't make him honest. Just because an evil man does good it doesn't make him holy. Sin is of the devil and rebellion was the first sin.
