The Lord who saves

God draws near in the gospel, revealing himself in Jesus Christ, the Son. Thus God makes a gospel promise, that "whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved" (Rom 10:13). We should see the person in the promise, the Lord Jesus Christ. We should understand the condition of the promise, which is calling on the name of the Lord. We should rejoice at the hope of the promise, which is certain salvation in all its fulness. We should marvel at the breadth of the promise, for whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
