Christ Is All I Need

As I embrace the Gospel and bear the reproach of Christ,
as I carry my cross and endure the scorn of others,
as I glory in the shame of worshiping a crucified savior,
as I count all things but dung that I may win the excellencies of Christ,
as I reject the shiny trinkets of worldly religion and instead live as a living sacrifice,
as I say goodbye to this world's goods and by faith grasp onto the substance of things hoped for,
as I make a home in a world that is ultimately not my home,
as I long for a land that I've never seen, whose refreshing winds I've never felt and whose life-giving fruit I've never tasted,
as I continue to shape my earthly life like a pilgrim on a journey to a far away shore I become more and more aware of a very great and solemn truth:

Christ is all I need.
