V21-22 Problem with the Law
= The Law could not give life.
= If the Law could have given life, there would have been no reason for Christ to die for our sins.
= All are under sin (missing the mark). The Law had no answer to sin.
= Two Key words in verse 22: Faith & Believe
V23-24: Purpose of Law
= The only answer was faith. The law was there to shut people up, like a jailor, to faith.
= The Law was never a barrier to faith. “We cannot come to Christ to be justified till we've been to Moses to be condemned” John Stott
V26-29: When we come to Christ, the provision of the Lord.
= We become children of the Lord. Faith in Christ is the only way to be children of God is by Christ: Only one way to heaven is by the cross of Christ.
= We are put into Christ. We are baptized into Christ, not by water but by the Spirit.
= Faith in Christ is what puts us in the family of God.
