Dependers, Pretenders, Or Contenders?

The Letter of Jude may be compact (25 verses), yet it is packed with potency. An unfolding of its contents reveals a demonstrative dynamism which calls for believers to contend proactively for the faith. While the false teachers of Jude's time may differ in method from contemporary charlatans, the mission of each is quite similar--to lead the faithful to fail and fall. Jude constructs an apologetic or apology (strategy of defense) that transcends the tide of time, and provides us with the necessary ammunition to stand firm, stand true, stand up.
