The Wise and Wicked Contrasted

Proverbs 4:18-19
'But the path of the just is as the shining light, That shineth more and more unto the perfect day. The way of the wicked is as darkness: They know not at what they stumble.'

The sermon presents a powerful contrast between the path of the righteous and the way of the wicked, rooted in Scripture from Proverbs 4:18–19 and reinforced by Jesus' teaching in Matthew 7:13–14. It emphasises that all humanity falls into one of two categories: those justified by grace through faith in Christ, whose lives are illuminated by the light of divine truth, and those in spiritual darkness, blinded by sin and deception, stumbling unknowingly toward eternal destruction. The central theme is the transformative power of divine revelation—where the light of Christ dispels the darkness of unbelief, enabling believers to walk in growing assurance, knowledge, and grace. In contrast, the unregenerate remain in ignorance, led astray by the devil's deception, unaware of the fatal consequences of rejecting Christ, who is both the cornerstone and the stumbling block. The message calls every listener to examine their spiritual condition, urging a decisive choice between the narrow path of salvation and the broad road of ruin, with eternal life or eternal destruction as the ultimate outcome.
