Shaking the World to Pieces

Both advents of Christ are to be accompanied by upheavals in the world, and the shaking that will accompany the second advent of Christ will destroy everything on which people have tended to rely. The passing of the old year reinforces the urgency of the fact that time is passing quickly away. It is an exhortation to be sure that you have not staked your eternal happiness on that which will be shaken to pieces.
