Understanding the Times

David fled to the wilderness – 1 Samuel 22:2 And every one that was in distress, and every one that was in debt, and every one that was discontented, gathered themselves unto him; and he became a captain over them: and there were with him about four hundred men.

It was a time of trouble and turmoil. These men sought after God's appointed king, and became his army: 1 Chronicles 12:38 All these men of war, that could keep rank, came with a perfect heart to Hebron, to make David king over all Israel: and all the rest also of Israel were of one heart to make David king.

These hurting, hopeless men became an army, fit for battle. They had a heart to follow and honour the king. 1 Chronicles 12:22. ...they were all mighty men of valour. 1 Chronicles 12:23. These were ready armed to the war.

They knew the reality of the days they were living in. 1 Chron. 12:32. ...men that had UNDERSTANDING of the times, to know what Israel ought to do.
May we also have an understanding the times – and know WHAT we must do.

The Bible tells of a world where people's foolish hearts are darkened… Romans 1:22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools. Ignorance prevails.

"Doctors destroy health, lawyers destroy justice, universities destroy knowledge, governments destroy freedom, the major media destroy information, religions destroy spirituality, and Bible publishers destroy God's Word."

There is a shocking lack of knowledge. A war is being waged against the truth. People don't know God. There's a wilful ignorance. 2 Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not…
