Christ's Priestly Office

Christ's Priestly Office.

1. When Jesus died upon the cross, he did offer up himself a sacrifice to God.

2. When the sacrifice was upon the altar, then the sins of all believers, past present and those to come, were laid upon Jesus Christ.

3. That when these sins were thus laid upon Christ, he did thereby give full satisfaction to God the Father unto divine justice.

4. That all this he did as our great high priest, in a greater manner than ever any high priest did before him.

5. How all this leads to our comfort and to our holiness.
