This is how suicide works

In this real life event we are also given a glimpse into the inner workings of the suicidal mind. From here we can see the frustration that is constantly building in the mind. The searching for help but feeling as if there is none to be had. Here we see the thoughts of suicide as they mount and deceive us, leaving our survival instincts adrift. The method is not what is important, it is the battle that is raging inside. A battle that few on the outside suspect is happening to the individual who is fighting for their very life. We need help, whether we are the one who is having these thoughts or know someone who is. That help comes in the form of the Holy Ghost. He is here to help; to save the lost and to rescue the saved who are succumbing to these desires.
