The fire is coming

In a week in which we have been bombarded with images of fiery destruction, it is helpful to remember that a fire is coming which will have no limit in range, no delay in time, no degree of impact, no ease of trouble, no scope to contain it, no goods to be saved, and one way of escape: faith in Jesus Christ, with a life of righteousness and holiness. Do we hold lightly to this world, or cling tightly to a world that is passing away?
