Abraham Suffers Regret
What should have been the happiest day in Abraham and Sarah's lives was marred by the sins and foolishness of their past. When they saw Ishmael mocking, it provoked Sarah to demand of Abraham that he cast out Hagar and Ishmael, much to his grief, because Ismael was his son, too. Sin has enduring consequences. Sexual immorality and intimate relationships outside of marriage bring long-term emotional and spiritual damage. People of all ages, but particularly people when they are young, should determine in their heart long before they come of age to keep their minds, hearts, and bodies pure and not to trifle with relationships. Even if physical intimacy is not a part of it, giving your heart to someone that you do not end up marrying is very likely to cause problems in your future.
