Renounce the World

The Christian is called to take up his cross and deny himself. He is not to love the world. He is not to be conformed to this world. He is given a warning in the person of Demas.

Several examples for why we are to renounce the world:

1. Its possessions do not bring true peace (Luke 19:1-10).
2. The honor of men never compares to the honor of God (Acts 5:1-11).
3. It will corrupt your judgement (2Kings 20:12-19).
