The Book of Judges

19 Sermons | May 3, 2026 - May 5, 2026

The book of Judges is dark, strange, and deliberately unsettling, and that is exactly the point. This series works through one of the Bible's most neglected books, tracing Israel's recurring cycle of idolatry, suffering, and rescue, and refusing to moralize its deeply flawed heroes into self-help lessons. What emerges instead is a portrait of a God who is sovereign over every mess, who raises up unlikely deliverers, who holds his covenant people even when they have no business being held, and who is moving all of history toward the one Judge who never fails. Judges is not primarily about Gideon or Samson or Deborah. It is about the God who refuses to let his people go.
