For the believing Christian the way to a sanctified life is obtained by obeying the commands of God through the grace of God. The question that we often ask is how do I know I am doing the will of God when I have to make decisions in life that are not spelled out in Scripture? Is there a choice that God would have me to make that I am not aware of? Can I make the wrong choice and miss out on God’s best for me?
The other fundamental question that comes when seeking God’s will is how does God’s sovereignty and my free will work in decision making? There are blessings and trials that occur beyond our control and we know God is sovereign over these things. Yet how do we respond either to blessings or trials? Do we have any choices? Are the blessings or trials the result of our actions or attitudes?
In this class we will look into free will and God’s sovereignty, and then study decision making and God’s will. Studying the Scriptures on these topics will enlighten us as to how we think and make decisions.
