The book of Joshua unfolds the long-awaited fulfillment of God’s covenant promise as His people enter, fight for, and gradually inherit the land sworn to their fathers, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Moses. In these sermons we encounter the holiness of God, the seriousness of obedience, the certainty of judgment, and the steadfast mercy that preserves His people. Yet the promised conquest ultimately points beyond itself to Christ, the greater Joshua, who secures an eternal rest for all who believe in Him by faith. Through the Book of Joshua, the Spirit of God teaches how faith produces courage, how God’s promises sustain obedience, and why the presence of the Lord remains our only sure ground of hope.
