Songs of Ascent

This series considers the Songs of Ascent (or Pilgrim Songs), a grouping of psalms comprising Psalm 120 to 134 which are believed to have been sung as pilgrims as they journeyed to Jerusalem for one of the annual Jewish festivals on the ascent up the hill to the city and into the temple. We learn:
God’s presence during distress; Joyful praise to the Lord; Prayer for Jerusalem; Patience for God’s mercy; Help comes from the Lord; Prayer for God’s blessing upon His people; The Lord has done great things; God’s blessing on man’s efforts; Joy for those who follow God’s ways; A cry for help to the Lord; A prayer of repentance; Surrender as a child to the Lord; God’s sovereign plan for His people; Praise of brotherly fellowship and unity; and Praise to God in His temple.
