I was visiting the church and heard this sermon / Bible study live. We know from Hebrews 12 that all God's children will be chastised. To understand how God deals with sin in his children, and makes it work for their good is very important to all believers. I highly recommend listening to this sermon.

Good and useful message. Living and serving the Lord with faith.

Very good message. Very good lessons about revival. It was very good to meditate again on the conditions of a true revival.

Blessed instrument, formed and equipped by God, and used mightily for His glory.

This message is a clear and simple re-sounding of the "faith of our fathers" (the leading Puritans and their successors were virtually unanimous in their belief in the main point: the future conversion of Israel according to the flesh). This is best that mature Biblical exposition (without a 'reactionary' axe-to-grind against dispensational error), can glean from Romans 11 and its related passages in the holy Word of God. If one lets the Scriptures speak for themselves, it is an inescapable conclusion (excepting for those who are so embroiled in refuting futuristic millennial errors, that they throw out the baby with the bath-water).

The impact of the Gospel succinctly carried out and delivered. I will repeat listening to this sermon to meditate on it for good.

Especially here in the spiritual wasteland of the Chicago suburbs, and what Rev. Thackway preaches is true: God is with us, and if we seek the Lord, he will be found, amd he draws near to those who draw near to him--he never turns away anyone who turns to him in humility, repentance. and dependence.

Yet another meaningful, encouraging, and providential sermon from Rev. Thackway such as I have never heard in the shallow, superficial spiritual wasteland of the Chicago suburbs; I have grown to love the Psalms through Dom Green's exposition of them at Truth Community Church in Cincinnati as well as Davis Dickson's commentary on the Psalms.

I just have never heard meaningful and encouraging preaching such as Rev. Thackway's in the shallow, superficial spiritual wasteland of the Chicago suburbs and certainly not from the academically detached OPC which idolizes John Piper and Timothy Keller.

I was reminded in this sermon of how Bunyan describes in his book, Grace Abounding to The Chief of Sinners, one of the ways that he was taught of The Spirit to interpret God’s Word correctly while Satan was suggesting false interpretations and applications to him, in order to confuse and discourage him greatly. Bunyan says that he was enabled to see, through this experience of satan’s attempts to deceive him, that he was to “labor to take The Word as God had laid it down, without restraining the force of one syllable thereof”. Prior to this he had been afraid to carefully look into the meaning of some threatening verses. Satan, of course, is real, and he engages in this practice now attempting to discourage and lead to despair those who come to Christ for salvation. Pastor Thackway, in this sermon takes an interesting and seeming obscure verse of scripture, and doing just as Bunyan learned to do, he takes each syllable of this verse in its force and scope as God put it down, and thereby derives great lessons for us. Thank You Lord, for Pastor Thackway and his church, for their faithfulness to You and Your Word in this dark time on this earth, and do be pleased to bless and keep him and them in Your grace and power, I pray, in Jesus Name.

So encouraging to know that the Lord’s hand is in every situation!

Thank you for this wonderful teaching which also encouraged me greatly in my walk with the Lord. There are far too many things to point out that helped but I was so delighted to hear of Deuteronomy 29:29 which clearly tells us we are not intended to know everything in detail, but what God wants us to:He has revealed in the Bible for us.🇦🇺

This sermon will encourage anyone who is near despair with their trials. It was a such a word in season to me and a blessing to my soul. Clearly, Rev. Watts speaks from personal experience as he conveys, so articulately, the sense of desperation that David felt when penning this Psalm and specifically verse 13. You cannot afford not to listen to this!
