Thank you for a much needed suggestion that I must plant into my days & nights..living in insane times, overflowing with evil, & threats all around.... "The Name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous runs into it & is safe." Proverbs 18:10

I really enjoyed this teaching that brings fresh insights to a passage that is often overlooked. Two things stood out to me: (1) that all the women in Jesus' genealogy were Gentiles, had some element of scandal associated with them, and were a foreshadowing of the bringing of the Gentiles into the Israel of God, and (2) that this genealogy begins with Jesus Christ and is defined by Him. Rather than His ancestors defining Him, HE (who indeed is before all things and by whom they were made) defines them. Truly a beautiful example of how the whole of Scripture, even the genealogies, points to Christ and exalts Him!

There are many things I appreciate about Dr. Bilkes preaching, too many to list here I think, but a few of them are the simplicity, the honesty, the depth; like the Bible, what I hear is REAL. No cant, slogans or platitudes, no avoiding the tough subjects or bearing our souls…I am sometimes reminded in listening to this man of God of the Psalms, how they seem to reach into my heart and express what I feel but do not know how to express, and this is a very great blessing. Thank you Dr Beeke your exposition of this portion of God’s Word was a great blessing to me. I don’t think that I have heard a more powerful or more moving exposition on Genesis 3:15. Hallelujah what a Saviour!

I’ve listened to this recording numerous times, as well as countless other sermons on Sermonaudio. Many have blessed me greatly, but I still say that this one is the most wonderful , soul-edifying, heartwarming , blessed hour of preaching/teaching I’ve heard.
