We are looking for a Sovereign Grace pastor.
A note from Danny King: I had always respected the Bible, but never read it. One day the Lord spoke to my spirit. He said, “Is that REALLY My Word?” There was no sound but it was so real I answered out loud, “Yes.” He replied, “Then why don’t you read it?”
That day changed my life. One thing led to another, and, long story short, I became a pastor. But pastoring and preaching are VERY different things. Again, long story short, I left my wife for one of the Sunday School teachers.
I stopped teaching, but I could not stop reading. I got remarried, but came to grips with the fact that that no one would ever want to hear me again. Occasionally I found someone who was broken like me, and they would talk. Temple Baptist Church in Arcadia graciously accepted me and my new wife as members.
After a year, my pastor (my dad) insisted I begin teaching Sunday School.
I don’t think the Lord ever wanted me to pastor. But one verse keeps coming up:
Hebrews 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
