"I heard the true gospel of sovereign grace on a bus to San Diego State University in 1972. The Lord used the fear of being drafted and dying in Vietnam to drive me to my
knees. I was spared being drafted. I lived at the time in Monterey, California. I moved to
San Diego to continue my education. It was there that I heard the true gospel of sovereign
grace on a bus to San Diego State University in 1972. God converted me to Jesus Christ,
although I could never be sure of the precise time. That was not as important as knowing
that my life was right before the living and true God. From that time forward I possessed
as my “only comfort in life and death” the undeniable fact that “I am not my own, but
with body and soul belonged to my faithful Savior Jesus Christ, who, with His precious
blood, has fully satisfied for all my sins, and redeemed me from all the power of the
devil.” Every day He preserves me, “so that without the will of my Father in heaven not
a hair can fall from my head; indeed, that all things must work together for my salvation.”
“Wherefore, by His Holy Spirit, He also assures me of eternal life, and makes me heartily
willing and ready from now on to live unto Him.” (Heidelberg Catechism #1)". - Pastor Baloy
