Dr Roy Ackerle

Dr. Roy Ackerle has been involved in world-wide missions for 60+ years. At the age of 12 he went to Santa Cruz, Bolivia with his parents who served there almost 30 years. He graduated from Bob Jones University in 1946 and following two years of teaching Spanish at BJU he and his wife Marge went to Cuba as missionaries in 1948. The Ackerle's were forced out of Cuba in 1960. Dr. Ackerle has spent the years since then as a field director for South America, candidate secretary and field director for Baptist International Ministries Inc. and has maintained a spanish radio broadcast that he began while in Cuba, "La Capillia del Aire". Dr. Ackerle at the age of 85 still is the field director for Cuba with BIMI and maintains a schedule of preaching mission conferences both in the states and in many Spanish speaking countries around the world.
