Jon was saved by God's sovereign grace on June 3, 1985, while serving in the U.S. Navy as a deep sea diver. Medically discharged at rank of Chief Petty Officer following Operation Desert Storm, he served as a missionary in the Philippines from 1993-1995. In 2000, he was called to pastor his first church in Riverside, California, First Filipino Methodist Church. An adherent to the 1689 London Baptist Confession since 1987, Jon reluctantly heeded to the Lord's call. He has since ministered as pastor and missionary-pastor to churches in Alaska and Alabama, his last pastorate being Calvary Baptist Church in Ninilchik, Alaska.

Due to ailments springing from latent onset diving decompression sickness, Jon is ministering to his wife, family, and friends as a fellow Christian and witness of Christ's amazing grace. He and his wife Lisa will be settling in Buda, Texas to be near their youngest daughter and youngest grandson.
