Meet the Puritans | Thomas Ridgley

Thomas Ridgley was born in London in 1667. He was trained at a private seminary in Wiltshire as well as at Thomas Doolittle’s nonconformist academy in Islington, just outside of London. Ridgley then returned to London, where he was ordained to the ministry in 1695 as an assistant to Thomas Gouge (ca. 1665–1700), the son of Robert Gouge. Ridgley became Gouge’s successor, and the congregation began growing in spiritual vitality following a previously low spiritual state. Ridgley remained at the Three Cranes in London for nearly forty years. {Meet the Puritans}
