The Realization of Resurrection in Jesus - The Destruction of Death

The kingdom of God is the kingdom of new creation, and therefore it has its genesis in the resurrected Jesus as the first fruits of new creation. Jesus' resurrection proves that He has conquered and destroyed death, but death's destruction has yet to be realized in the experience of the material creation. Thus death continues to be an enemy to be abolished, and this will occur at the Parousia. Then the whole creation will be liberated from death; then death and the grave will be done away forever and the everlasting kingdom will be fully consummated.
