Ranting At The Vomit Churches! It's an ugly job, but somebody has to do it

We start our lecture discussion with yet another letter. This one is from Debra from San Diego. She is an itinerant preacher at the local woman’s prison, and she wants to know if our pastor will get deeper into the grave cloths of Lazarus and Jesus, as she will be teaching on that topic this Sunday. And, it just so happens, that’s what the bulk of the lecture will be today. It’s a wonderful letter and well received by the little group at Cliffside.

Pastor is going to delve more into Light and Time. That is the theme of Joel, at least in this pastor’s view. This leads to Day and Night, Good and Evil, Sheep and Goats, and that takes us to the Lord’s Prayer, and Satan’s deception, which is discussed therein.

And there is a movement by the world’s beloved Pope (that is sarcasm BTW) to delete certain things from the Lord’s Prayer. And, of course, we would be highly remiss if we didn’t pounce all over Andy Stanley as we started to do last week. Most disturbing is Andy’s belief that academia has disproved most of the Old Testament, which couldn’t be further from the truth. YES! We’re Still Mad With Andy! This is serious stuff that absolutely has to be dealt with. And just like Joel Olsten, with his new black Ferrari. It’s Revelation 3:16 on review. Look at the parts of 2 Timothy that deals with this. Churches these days won’t. I wonder why not. Humm?

So, is the whole sermon a rant? No. He throws some humor in at spots. Okay, yes, It’s mostly a very informative rant. How’s that for honesty?
