A Tale of Two Husbands

Husband #1 is the Law. Believers are baptized into Christ's death. Therefore, we are dead to Husband #1. We are free to marry Husband #2, namely Jesus Christ 'who was raised from the dead, that we should bear fruit to God' (Romans 7.4). Marriage normally produces the fruit of children. Our marriage to Christ will produce the fruit of God-works. It's relationally-driven not law-driven.
