Series 1 Corinthians
I. All Things are Lawful v. 23-24
“All things are lawful” -- this was probably one of the slogans for those we could call “the freedom party” in Corinth.
The activities not specifically dealt with in Scripture are the things that often cause the most controversy in Christian circles.
II. Practical Principles Regarding Christian Liberty
A. Four Principles of Christian Liberty -- Romans 14:1-8
1. We are to receive our brother
2. We must not despise our brother
3. We must not judge our brother.
4. We must not violate our conscience and we must be fully convinced of the rightness of our actions.
B. All things are Lawful -- Three Helpful Caveats 1 Cor. 10:23-24
1. Not all things are helpful.
2. Not all things edify
3. Seek your neighbors good above your own rights.
III. Christian Liberty Applied 25-30
A. Avoid being overly scrupulous 25-26
