Kingdom Excuses
Series Great Kingdom Truths
Theme: Do not miss the opportunity to participate in the joyful, satisfying, eternal fellowship with the one true God over insignificant excuses. In v. 15, we see the wrong assumption of the man at the dinner. Not everyone there would go to heaven. We need to realize that many are deceived. In vv. 16-20, Jesus gives another parable regarding the excuses that are given by those who do not attend the banquet. They put off the most important invitation. In application, we need to prioritize knowing the Living God. In vv. 21-24, the invitation expansion is described. Jesus is urging those around Him to hear the call of the gospel and follow Him. There are no second chances after death. In application, as a church we need to be on mission. The servant was obedient to the Master's call to go and invite. It took effort and determination, and there was disappointment. In summary, Jesus is teaching what it truly means to be in the kingdom. Don't be deceived, there is only life in Christ. Do you know this truth yourself, and if so, are you seeking to be on mission to tell others?
