Intro to Book of Joshua: God's Man to Lead Israel
Series Joshua
With this sermon we begin a series of studies on the Book of Joshua. In Chapter 1, we the Lord commissions Joshua to be the next leader of His People Israel.
One thing I learned as a preacher preaching this passage is that Joshua is the first fulfillment of the Deuteronomy 18 prophecy of a future prophet that will be like Moses raised up from the midst of his brethren.
Ultimately, this is fulfilled by Christ Jesus, the Savior, but for now Joshua is the one who will lead and conquer all Israel's enemies.
