Marching to Zion, Part 1

•This psalm “has baffled commentators for some time” (Ross). Biblical knowledge and spiritual illumination are indispensable.
•A crash course in redemptive history might help.
•The OT saga in view is Israel’s deliverance from Egypt and settlement in Canaan. Jerusalem (Mount Zion) was the Lord’s special dwelling place.
•The NT interprets these events and written history as foreshadowing salvation of the Church through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Praise the God who marches to glorification through our full salvation.
