A Choice that Lasts
Series Miscellaneous
Martha Commended: Her initiative, hospitality, and faith
I. Beware of being distracted by eminently lawful and good activities!
II. Notice how easily we can be wrong when we think we are right.
How easily we can be mistaken about ourselves. When our priorities are not right, our perceptions can easily be off.
- She complains
- She faults
- She reproaches
- She demands/insists.
- She acted insensitively
III. Ask yourself if what you are doing will eventually be taken away from you.
Notice, it does not say "BETTER PART" but the good part! The ALONE is the good part.
Let us beware of reducing our devotion to Christ on account of pressing responsibilities.
Rather than asking, "Are you a Mary or a Martha?" let me ask, "What do you have now that will never be taken away?" What consumes your heart? Will that be taken away?
