The Passover Plot
Series The Gospel of Mark
What we have just reviewed is the determined will of man. There are for us those moments of profound discouragement when we feel that God's will is being thwarted. We can see that the history of the human race is a history in which the will of men slants radically away from the will of God. We can attribute the misery index in life going up in direct proportion to the paths people tread away from the will of God. God's creation is established with moral laws and central is the law that you reap what you sew. When you set your will against God… God sets His will against you. When we see the plots of people set against what we understand to be the will of God we rightly feel the urge to duck for cover. We may also feel the urge to strike out and set things straight; to correct the determined course of sinful men. Sometimes God grants us power to change that course… most times He does not. Here is what you need to know though— at no time has God lost control; at no time does the will of man overwhelm the will of God.
