Stern Warning and Strong Assurance

Particularly in view of those whose spiritual backsliding
was manifested in their dropping off church attendance, the writer issues a stern warning about spiritual shipwreck. But he also reminds them of the sufferings they had joyfully endured for the sake of Christ and his people, and urges them to endure in the Christian life so they may obtain the promises.
