The Rapture: the Reunion of the Inner and Outer Man

The souls or spirits of believers who have died are with the Lord Jesus in heaven, and their bodies are sleeping in the earth. But when the Lord Jesus Christ returns for his Bride, the Church, those who have had their persons' split apart in death will experience wholeness again as the Inner Man and the Outer Man are reunited.

For those of us who are alive at the Lord's return, we will never know this splitting apart of the Inner and Outer Man; instead, we will experience our mortal bodies being immersed in immortality and death being swallowed up by life.
